I feel that I have given this project my best. Completing the reverse storyboard for ‘The Raid 2’ gave me a good practice at storyboarding before I began my own storyboard, and it also allowed me to put my newly expanded knowledge about filmmaking and techniques to the test by analysing a scene from the film, allowing me to construct the reveres storyboard.įor my research I made use of materials provided to me through the University’s online learning environment, Blackboard, I also made use of the endless resources that are available on the internet, and also the diverse collection of resources that the Universities ATRiuM library houses. The further research into filmic language and techniques that I did also gave me a deeper understanding into films and expanded my knowledge into filmmaking, which is an are I find incredibly interesting. This storyboarding project has allowed me to grasp a greater understanding of the films I love watching, from understanding that everything you see on the screen was once draw in a storyboard and then used as a guide for directors or artists. I am entirely self taught in Photoshop, so the photoshop sessions filled any gaps in my knowledge and also taught me new and quicker ways of doing things through the use shortcut keys that I didn’t previously know and through simpler ways of doing things.

My Wacom tablet has been invaluable during this project, being an essential tool to allow me to create my final animatic.

I also feel like I have learnt new skills during this project, both in software (Photoshop) and also in the way that I manage time and manage projects. I enjoyed this project a lot more than I expected, considering my severe inability to draw, I didn’t feel held back and I felt that I could express my ideas pretty well in this project. I feel pleased with how this project has gone, I managed to complete it a week before the deadline, and I am happy with the final outcome. This was my first project at University on my chosen course of Visual Effects and Motion Graphics.
